The Summer Rain

On my side of the earth, the sky has shed a few tears since the beginning of Summer. In the middle of an errand one is greeted by the rising aroma of petrichor accompanied by feeling one warm raindrop on an obscure place on the body.

“Yup, mhm, it's about to rain,” we say inside ourselves.

Florida is known for her showers that seem to be scheduled to inconvenience. Locals know not to cancel plans, for the rain will subside transiently, allowing the sun to show her glimmering face again. It's only a little while. The sun will triumph again. This we know is certain.

Such is the way of the Christian life.

How do you know when you’re living in a testimony? When everything seems to come against the word God spoke to you. God’s word will not return to Him void. See it through, friend.

So shall My word be that goes forth from My mouth; It shall not return to Me void, But it shall accomplish what I please, And it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it. - Isaiah 55:11

Then when you’ve stepped through your window of opportunity, remember the rain is coming.

Remember that rain sometimes interrupt plans. Do not reschedule. Let it drench you as you press on. Allow your clothes to cling to your frame. It may feel like you can hardly breathe as you pass through to get to the otherside. But His breath in you will sustain you.

Do not grow cold to the unexpected showers that are from God. This is the part where the devils plans got defeated because you stayed the course.

Rain is like a two-fold mystery.

Coming to wash the dirt from your car,

And simultaneously water the fields for fruit to eat.

Rain subtracts and adds.

Therefore, do not despise the summer rain.

It nourishes the seed for harvest.

Autumn is on her way.

Get ready.
